Cheese
March 16, 2006 on 12:52 am | In Life | 4 CommentsI left my shredded cheese out overnight by accident. Last night I couldn’t sleep, so I got up and put some left over rice in a bowl and sprinkled pizza mix cheese over it and put the bowl in the microwave. Heading back to my room to enjoy my midnight snack, I forgot to put the bag of cheese away. So do you think it’s still good? Can it go bad without having mold on it?
Which brings me to another thing. You can get mozzerella shredded cheese and you can get cheddar shredded cheese. With the cheddar, you know it’s gone bad when it develops white spots, which progress into green spots if left long enough. Now I can’t help but think I’ve eaten much moldy mozzerella cheese since the preliminary mold is white, the same colour as the cheese.
Desktop Earth
March 10, 2006 on 8:33 pm | In Tech | No CommentsThis is a sweet program that updates your wallpaper according to what the earth would look like from space at that precise moment. I’ve got it set up so that the part of the world in night is on the my left screen and the the parts that in in daylight are on my right screen. Right now it looks like the eastern tip of Africa is waking up to a sunrise!
Low on fuel
March 10, 2006 on 2:05 am | In Life | 1 CommentWell I spent this entire week working on a project for my operating systems course. In the process I managed to get a sore throat, mostly due to stress I think. It lasted 3 days and now I feel great! As a result of this I’ve neglected the cleanliness of my place which I’ve kept spotless since Brianne moved out as to show potential roomates. On that note I should have a roomate named Chad moving in around the 20th, so alas my time of living alone shall end. So as for this weekend it’s:
1. Cleaning my place so much that the Queen could visit
2. Going for some bike rides and running (friends welcome to join)
3. Guitaring, I plan to expand my Slayer and Metallica songs. Songs to learn suggestions?
4. I’ve really got to get groceries. On the plus side of not having much food to eat, I finally get around to eating the things I neglect to eat. Who would have thought zatar on toast would have been so good!
Also, I had an awesome time with Kyla and co on the weekend, going to the Japaneese Village and then to her place where we played the hilariously outdated “Isaac Asimov presents Super Quiz”. I hope you had a happy birthday on Wednesday!

Man, I’m still tired. After I got home yesterday I went to sleep for 4 hours, longer than I planned since I slept through the meeting I was suppose to go to. As a result I couldn’t get to sleep when I needed to, again, so I got 6 hrs of sleep, more than yesterday but still not enough.
In other annoying news, my printer (Brother MCF) has died. For my open book exam yesterday I needed to print off some notes, and it printed the 53 pages just fine and as soon as it finished it beeped with an error. It displays “Error 41, please call Brother”. I looked up this code on the net and apparently my printer heads are broken, and it’s a common problem. It’s not easy to fix and I really don’t have time for this kind of thing.
Find her an empty lap, fellas
March 1, 2006 on 12:15 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsThe gods didn’t want me to get to my midterm thismorning. All of a sudden we get all this snow, it made riding my bike very difficult. I’m running on 3 hours of sleep right now so I appologize in advance if this post is nonsensical. All I want to do is sleep but I have a class in an hour where I’m getting back a midterm so I can’t skip. After that I have three hours before I have to be at a UAARG meeting. My exam thismorning was open book, usually that indicates a slaughter. The “open book” premise lures students into thinking they don’t need to know everything because they can just look it up on the exam. However the concepts presented in the exam are on a level that is abstract from whatever the notes and books can show you. Only knowing the material well will enable you to know what the heck is going on when it asks you what address 0xXXXXXXXX is. You can’t look up how to do that kind of thing in a book. I didn’t open my books once during the exam, which hopefully means I did well. I dreamt up lots of blogging topics while I was trying to fall asleep at 4:30am, but alas I can not remember them so I shall stop here.
